Lucky Numbers

The People’s Theatre, in association with New Writing North, are delighted to present the winning play of The People’s Play Award. This biannual competition aims to find an exciting new play; to discover and develop new North-East writers who have not yet received a professional production of their work on stage.  

The play centres around a Geordie grandmother who wins the lottery.  Her family, however, are not convinced, regarding Granny as 'losing her marbles'.  Trying to get the ticket off the batty old lady proves more difficult than they thought - she's put it in a safe place - and how they go about convincing her to give up her prize ticket, real or not, provides for a very funny exploration of family relationships.
