The Woman in White

by Wilkie Collins (adapted by Constance Cox)

One dark night, on a moonlit road, draughtsman and artist Walter Hartright comes to the rescue of a woman dressed all in white.  Confused and distressed, she talks of secrets and warns him against a man of rank and title.

When taking up his new employment as drawing master to wealthy Laura Fairlie and her half-sister Marion Halcombe, Walter notices a striking resemblance between Laura and the mysterious woman in white.  Walter and Laura quickly fall in love, but she is already engaged, and Walter is shocked to realise that the key to unlocking the secret of the woman in white may be found within the lives of the two sisters.

This adaptation of the spine-tingling novel by Wilkie Collins tells of love, deception, villainy and unspeakable secrets in Victorian England.
