But after becoming hopelessly lost on their travels, Charles and his best friend Hastings mistake Mr Hardcastle's private manor house for the local inn, treating him as a paid servant and taking his daughter to be the barmaid! And just when matters could not get any worse, Hastings falls for Kate's cousin Constance who is already betrothed to Mrs Hardcastle's son. Uh-oh! The course of true love never did run smooth, not least in this frivolous, farcical, good-natured comedy of manners.
