A clever, funny and distinguished man, Larkin was quite a draw for the ladies. He desired sex and female company but strictly on his terms. Over thirty years his life was dominated by three lovers - articulate, vivacious Monica; quiet and prim Maeve and his down-to-earth secretary of 18 years, Betty. This skilful and moving play goes behind the scenes of a life shared with these three very different women, combining Larkin's poetry with his quick-fire wit and some of his much-loved jazz music.
