What's On > Summer 2006 Season >
by John Osborne
When John Osborne's ground-breaking drama Look Back in Anger opened
in 1956 it changed the face of British theatre forever.
Jimmy Porter is trapped in a dead-end job, living in a cramped bed-sit with
his wife and best friend.
Passionate and educated but dispossessed, Jimmy came to represent an entire
generation of 'angry young men'.
Fifty years after its debut at the Royal Court Theatre, this emotional and
powerful work continues to pose urgent questions about Britain's identity.
